Enjoy 4 musicians take to the stage at Pop Brixton. You’ll hear Emma Robin, Shah, Stacy N.K.R and GGS Dre over the evening, all of whom are ready to entertain you with their unique music. The perfect way to spend a hump day. Oh, and it’s all free.
Ask big questions

The Night Gallery has collaborated with dance artist, activist and author Valerie Ebuwa to present ValUE, a project that combines art, photographs and film to examine the attitudes towards Black female bodies in history and currently. The aim is to “restore a greater sense of value to them“, and the evening will be a celebration as well as an opportunity to ask big questions in a safe space.

The hotly debated Pokémon Go Festival is coming to Brockwell Park this August and will see thousands of fans descend to London for real-time gaming with other Pokémon Go enthusiasts. The days are split into two sessions; a ticket will get you ‘entry’ for a half day in the park before heading into central London (or vice-versa). There will be loads of bonus treats, and loads of people around all hoping to catch ’em all.

There’s a house party happening at Market House and it’s got some good vibes waiting for you. Get there pre 11pm and it’s free entry, and get there pre 10pm to make the most of their cocktail list. It’s big, it’s loud and it’s a lot of fun.
Go on a private bus tour

Where: Starts in Brixton, location TBC
This 3 hour bus trip around London from Black History Walks will show off London’s top tourist attractions from an African/Caribbean perspective. You’ll see all the big sights but through a new lens: expect 3,500 years of history which will span everything from Black Tudors, to Mavis Best, British Black Panthers to the Anti-Aparthied Movement and much, much more.
Get dancing on the roof
When: 13th August
Where: Prince Of Wales, SW9 8HH
Latino Fest is back, and this time it’s taking it outside. This all day party will see over 700 Latin music lovers head to the roof terrace of The Prince of Wales for a big boogie. Reggaeton, Dembow and Latin Pop will be played non-stop by some of the very best DJs. And don’t worry, the indoor room will be open too if it gets chilly out.
Discover ‘common threads’
When: 16th- 20th August

The Brixton X Harlem Festival ’23 is the 2nd of its kind, and it’s all about celebrating the common threads between Brixton and the twinned New York neighbourhood. There are loads of events happening over the 5 days including the release of an exclusive Brixton Brewery X Harlem Brewing Co beer, talks, twinning businesses, exhibitions and much more.
Eat seasonal food

Where: Brockwell Greenhouses, SE24 9BJ
Brockwell Greenhouses are hosting their summer seasonal supper club where you’ll be able to enjoy a 3 course vegetarian feast within the surrounds of the beautiful greenhouses. The evening will be to raise money for the community organisation to keep them running and there’ll be a bar open on the evening to keep the good time flowing too!
Visit the Black Culture Market
When: 19th-20th August
Where: Downstairs at the Department Store, SW9 8FR
We know and love the Black Culture Market- they are all about promoting small businesses within the African and Caribbean communities. But this one is a little bit different. They are getting involved with the Brixton X Harlem festival and will be bringing elements of New York to the two day event. Beyond that, they’ll also be celebrating 50 years of hip-hop too- so you know the entertainment will be especially good this time.
