It’s time to roll up your sleeves and get ready to get stuck into August, Clapham. Here’s what you should be doing this month…
Become a master pasta chef in a night
When: 2nd , 9th, 16th, 20th August
Where: Osteria Mbare, SW4 7SS
If you’ve been to Osteria Mbare then you’ll know that they know a thing or two when it comes to pasta. Theirs is really, really good. Now they’re sharing their skills with you at their Wednesday evening masterclasses where you will make (and eat) your very own pasta and appetiser. You can also opt in for bottomless bubbles or a wine pairing on the night to really get the full experience.
Workout for free

Getting a workout in in London can be a pricey business. But the team at Thrive are letting you workout under the guide of professional trainers for free. They’ll take to the Common and put you through your paces (no matter what your ability you’ll be welcomed here). It’s the perfect place for getting a sweat on as well as meeting a community of like-minded fitness friends.

Where: Lane Eight Coffee, SW4 0HY
Join the coolest run club in town and head over to Lane Eight on the 10th at 7pm for a sundowner run with loads of other runners. Mile Twenty Seven is the running group set up by the people behind the coffee, who have a big love, and history, for running. This run club is getting more and more popular by the minute, so expect to see lots of faces (and abilities) turn up!
Chase the sun
When: 16th August
Where: Clapham Common, SW4 9DE
Choose either a 5km or 10km run around Clapham Common as the sun goes down. The race kicks off at 7pm so you’ll get to enjoy the park in all its dusky glory, plus these Run Through races will get you a medal, water and post race treats to celebrate your achievement too.
Fasten your seatbelts

Pam Ann is landing in Clapham this August! Back again with her world traveller themed show, Pam Ann is a globally renowned act that is not to be missed. Make sure you check in (AKA grab your tickets) before it’s too late!
Party on a Sunday
When: 20th August
Where: Revolutions, SW4 7TB
Forget the Sunday scaries with a big party! This day event kicks off at Revs on Clapham High Street at 4pm where there will be classic games ready for you before the night starts with DJs, dancing and great tunes until 11pm. Best cancel that Monday morning meeting now.
Jump like you’ve never jumped before at Soca Gold
When: 23rd August
Where: Bubba Oasis Clapham, SW4 7UR
Head to Clapham’s latest venue, Bubba Oasis, to start the Carnival party on Wednesday 23rd. You’ll hear big tunes from the ‘Carnival from yesteryear to now’, and with some fantastic drinks on offer plus an impressive international DJ cast there will certainly be dancing.
Eat some really good pub grub

There’s a new kitchen residency in town! This time Afuego are bringing their menu of carnitas tacos, burgers, loaded fries and fried chicken strips to The King & Co pub. This is the kind of menu that goes perfectly with a cold pint so make sure you visit them before they move on.
