Clapham Common is on a winning streak! Our favourite green haven has clinched the prestigious Green Flag Award for the seventh year in a row.
Since 2018, Clapham Common has been flying the flag high, showing everyone how it’s done. Keep Britain Tidy manages the Green Flag Award, backed by the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. It’s a big deal, celebrating parks that are beautifully managed and maintained.
Lambeth Council and the Clapham Common Management Advisory Committee (CCMAC) have done stellar work since 2018. They focus on eco-friendly initiatives, boosting health, and creating a community hub for everyone. Thanks to their efforts, Clapham Common shines alongside 25 other Green Flag-awarded spaces in Lambeth.
This award is judged annually by independent experts who look for the highest environmental standards. A Green Flag means the park is safe, welcoming, and superbly maintained, with top-notch facilities.
This seventh Green Flag celebrates the hard work and dedication of our local community and authorities. They keep Clapham Common a vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive space.
A big shoutout to the Clapham Common Management Advisory Committee (CCMAC) and Lambeth Council for their relentless efforts. The CCMAC includes three Lambeth Councillors, ten elected community reps, and members from Friends of Clapham Common, Clapham Society, and Wild Clapham, with support from This is Clapham.
