Looking for something a bit different to do this September? Well, you’re in luck!
The Brixton Windmill is hosting its much-anticipated Harvest Festival on Sunday, 29th September, and it’s set to be an afternoon full of family fun, food, and a bit of floury magic—all right here in the heart of Brixton.
Running from 1 to 5 pm, this free event is the perfect way to see out the summer and welcome in the autumn with the community. The festival is all about celebrating the wheat harvest, and trust us, there’s more to it than you might think! From learning how grain turns into flour to enjoying some of Brixton’s finest food and drink, there’s something for everyone.
Live Music: Whether you’re into folk tunes or something a little more eclectic, the Goblin Band, SELFolk, and Casino Moon will be keeping the vibes going all afternoon.
Morris Dancing: The Brixton Tatterjacks will be bringing the traditional moves—always a crowd-pleaser.
Workshops & Demos: Urban Canopy will be running nature workshops, perfect for getting the kids (or the big kids!) stuck into some hands-on activities. And don’t miss the milling demonstrations inside the windmill—where history really comes to life.
Food & Drink: Hungry? We’ve got you covered. Brixton Brewery will be pouring the pints, BreadBread will be serving up their famous loaves and pastries, and Emily Hunt Cakes will be there to satisfy your sweet tooth. Plus, En Root and Deuce will be dishing out some hot food to keep you going.
For the Kids: Little ones can get involved too with baking workshops, arts & crafts, and plenty of chances to get creative.
And that’s not all! The windmill shop will be open for flour sales, and the café & bar will be on hand with refreshments to keep you fueled as you enjoy the day.
So, if you fancy a day out that’s a little bit different, full of local charm and good vibes, the Harvest Festival at Brixton Windmill is where you’ll want to be. See you there!
