Created by Bar Manager Panos Ntalianis, the new selection features ten stunning cocktails inspired by the term JOIA, meaning ‘jewel’ in Portuguese. Each drink is named after different gems, reflecting both their colours and delicate qualities.

What’s on the Menu?

The menu has some real gems (pun intended). One of the standouts is the Zircao, a spicy margarita variant that combines smoky mezcal with mango and smoked paprika. Fancy something a bit richer? Try the Jasper, a blend of rye whiskey, fig leaf honey, and mandarin leaves. If you’re more into classic cocktails with a twist, the Morganite has you covered. This take on the Paloma features mezcal, agave, lime, tajin, and grapefruit soda.

The Perfect Pairing

These cocktails aren’t just for sipping solo – they’re designed with food pairings in mind. The bar snack menu, curated by Chef Henrique Sá Pessoa, offers a taste of Iberian flavours. Expect delights like Iberico croquetas, Pan con tomate with Iberico ham, and a rich salt cod tortilla. Soft slices of sourdough bread come with Ampersand butter and extra virgin olive oil, while the Octopus Salad with red pepper and potato is a must-try.

Save Room for Dessert

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, JOIA’s dessert cocktails are not to be missed. The Moonstone, inspired by the classic Portuguese pastel de nata, is made with rum, tentura, puff pastry, and vanilla custard. Pair it with the Torrija, a decadent dessert of caramelised brioche, almonds, raspberries, and Madeira ice cream. Another dessert-inspired option is the Diamantina, a minimalist cocktail with Havana 3 rum, toasted coconut, coconut oil liqueur, coconut water, and a hint of saltwater.

A View to Sip For

The innovative cocktail menu, paired with a backdrop of sweeping views over Battersea Power Station, makes JOIA Bar a true destination for locals and visitors alike. Whether you’re there to try the latest cocktail creations or enjoy the carefully curated snack menu, JOIA promises a blend of Iberian flavours with a touch of creative flair.

So, if you’re after a new spot to sip on some exquisite cocktails while soaking up the skyline, head over to JOIA Bar at Art’otel Battersea. Cheers to that!
