Brixton is about to welcome a new burger joint, and it’s brought to you by the founders of Ploussard, the Battersea hotspot that’s a favourite of none other than Michel Roux.
That’s right – Matt Harris and Tommy Kempton, the duo behind the highly praised Other Side Fried, are switching things up and launching Buster’s this month on Atlantic Road.
If you’re a fan of their fried chicken, don’t worry – that’s still going to be available for delivery. But at Buster’s, it’s all about wagyu beef burgers. Taking over the space that was once home to Other Side Fried, Buster’s will offer a menu that’s simple, yet refined. Expect wagyu beef burgers priced between £9 and £10, all served medium, in buttered potato rolls with classic French fries. It’s a step up from your average burger, combining premium beef with a menu that knows how to keep it classy.
The only thing changing between these burgers is the sauce. From green peppercorn Dijonaise to chicken fat mayo, the sauces will bring just the right touch to their juicy, medium-cooked patties. And while the fried chicken may be stepping aside in the spotlight, its legacy lives on in the flavours.
The team has given the site, nestled under one of South London’s iconic railway arches, a complete revamp. The design mirrors the relaxed yet stylish vibe at Ploussard, featuring wood panelling and neutral tones, creating an inviting space that feels both familiar and fresh.
It’s not just about the burgers. Buster’s will also be serving up a range of natural wines, craft beers, and cocktails to pair with your meal. And if you’re craving something sweet? There’s a single dessert on the menu: chocolate mousse with caramel sauce – simple, but sure to hit the spot.
Buster’s is a natural evolution for Harris and Kempton, and they’re excited to share this next chapter with Brixton. As Kempton put it, “Buster’s feels like a confident progression from Other Side Fried and building on our recent success with Ploussard. We can’t wait to share this next chapter of Buster’s with Brixton, and beyond.”
