Titled “From George to Gaza: A Retrospective”, the show is all about Campbell’s journey into visual activism, and it’s kicking off with a private view on Thursday, 17th October.

The Exhibition

Running from 18th October to 2nd November, this retrospective explores the last four years of Campbell’s work, documenting pivotal moments of protest and resistance. If you’ve followed his career, you’ll know Campbell’s roots run deep in Brixton, shaped by his Ugandan and Jamaican heritage and the streets of South West London in the 1970s. His photography captures raw emotions and the energy of demonstrations across the globe, from the George Floyd protests to Palestinian solidarity rallies in London.

As a special treat, Campbell will also be launching his second book, 0710 Year One, which delves into the spirit of the pro-Palestinian demonstrations. The book, like his photography, serves as a celebration of the ongoing fight for justice.

A Creative and Cultural Hub

Photofusion’s Director, Jenni Grainger, expressed her excitement about the collaboration. “Wayne has been a valued customer of Photofusion for some time, using our facilities to print many of his photographs. We’re thrilled to offer him our gallery space to showcase his work to a wider public. He is a passionate Brixton-born storyteller, and we can’t wait to see the conversations his work sparks.”

And the exhibition doesn’t stop there – on Thursday, 24th October, Campbell will be hosting an Artist Talk from 6.30 pm, offering a retrospective on visual activism and a chance to hear about his journey first-hand. The talk promises to be an inspiring dive into the intersection of creativity and activism.

Why You Should Go
