Duck and Rice is opening a new place in Battersea Power Station

Duck & Rice has been a Soho staple for nearly a decade, blending the charm of a British pub with world-class Chinese cuisine.

Now, they’re taking their show on the road (well, down the river) to Battersea Power Station with a brand-new location set to open in early 2025.

What’s the Vibe?

While the original Duck & Rice in Soho leans heavily into classic pub vibes, this new spot is switching things up. Described as a “British pub and chop suey kitchen,” the Battersea branch will bring a fresh take on their signature style. It’s located on Level 1 of Turbine Hall B, in the heart of what’s being dubbed the “riverside neighbourhood,” and it’ll share the stage with the ever-popular Control Room B bar.

Architects Macaulay Sinclair have gone for a design inspired by Cha Chaan Tengs and tea houses of South China. Expect sleek, contemporary interiors that still feel warm and inviting—a departure from the cosy old-school pub aesthetic of its Soho sibling.

What About the Food?

They’re keeping the menu details under wraps for now, but we’d bet good money on their signature Cantonese roast duck with jasmine rice making an appearance. If it’s anything like the original, you can expect expertly executed Chinese classics with a modern twist—and plenty of dishes to pair perfectly with a pint.

Why We’re Excited

With space for 185 diners, this is a bigger, bolder Duck & Rice. It’s got all the makings of a go-to spot: a creative menu, chic interiors, and a prime riverside location. Whether you’re a fan of the Soho favourite or just love exploring Battersea’s ever-expanding food scene, this is one to add to your must-visit list.
