The prestigious Mentor Chef Award was given to Byatt in recognition of his impact on the hospitality industry and the many chefs who have trained under him over the past 18 years.

A guiding force in the kitchen

Byatt’s influence reaches far beyond Trinity’s doors. His kitchen has been a training ground for some of the country’s top chefs, including Tom Sellers, Angelo Sato, and Graham Squire. Speaking at the ceremony in Glasgow, Byatt expressed his gratitude: “Mentoring people and giving back to the industry—that’s what we’re here for.”

A piece of Clapham on the Michelin stage

With Trinity continuing to set the bar for fine dining in South London, this award cements its reputation as a hub for culinary excellence.

Byatt also took to the stage to present the Young Chef of the Year Award to Ash Valenzuela-Heeger of Riverine Rabbit in Birmingham, showing that his passion for nurturing new talent remains as strong as ever.

What this means for Clapham

With its mix of Michelin-starred restaurants, independent eateries, and buzzy food markets, Clapham has long been a destination for food lovers. This latest award only adds to its credentials, proving once again that some of the best talent in the industry is right on our doorstep.

Congratulations to Adam Byatt—Clapham’s very own Michelin mentor. We couldn’t be any prouder! It’s an absolute privilege to have Trinity and their amazing team here in Clapham, continuing to shape the food scene in such an inspiring way.
