% Arabica brings Kyoto’s coffee culture to Battersea Power Station

Battersea’s vibrant scene is about to get a caffeine boost as global coffee icon % Arabica opens its latest London location at Battersea Power Station.

The soft launch begins on Saturday, 14th December, with the grand opening set for January 2025. Known for its minimalist design, exceptional coffee, and freshly baked treats, % Arabica is bringing a taste of Kyoto’s coffee culture to one of London’s most dynamic destinations.

Coffee with a global reputation

Originating in Kyoto, Japan, % Arabica has grown into a global sensation, boasting over 200 locations worldwide since its 2013 debut in Hong Kong. Famed for its Kyoto Latte and Spanish Latte, the brand has captivated coffee lovers with its expertly crafted drinks. The Battersea location continues this tradition, offering signature beverages alongside flat whites, matcha lattes, and single-origin pour-overs.

Designed to impress

Nestled in Turbine Hall A, this new café blends modern minimalism with Battersea Power Station’s industrial heritage. Paris-based architectural firm Ciguë, led by Sebastian Erazo, designed the space, incorporating elements like modular wall panelling and a central counter built around a preserved yellow brickwork column. The design pays homage to the building’s history while creating a sleek, inviting environment perfect for coffee enthusiasts.

Pastries to match the coffee

No coffee experience is complete without something sweet. % Arabica Battersea serves a range of freshly baked pastries, from buttery Cashew Almond Croissants to indulgent Pain au Chocolat. Other highlights include the White Chocolate Miso Cookie, Bantu Cinnamon Bun, and the delicately crafted Vanilla Canelé, ensuring there’s a treat for everyone.

A new reason to visit Battersea

Battersea Power Station, already home to over 150 shops, bars, and restaurants, is cementing its status as one of London’s must-visit locations. With the addition of % Arabica, visitors can now enjoy world-class coffee in a space that reflects the area’s cultural and architectural significance. Whether you’re a seasoned coffee connoisseur or simply looking for a cosy spot to relax, this new opening promises a memorable experience.
