Bobo & Wild to take over The Black Lab location

When one cafe closes, another will surely open. Though The Black Lab will be missed, we are looking forward to welcoming Bobo & Wild.

After being open in Clapham Common since 2010, Black Lab is closing. The café was known for being a cosy, dog friendly, neighbourhood spot that would see queues for their legendary hot chocolates in the cold months and always came through with their cracking selection of baked goods on their counter when the cravings for a sweet treat hit. They announced that they’ll be closing their doors via a post on Instagram a few days ago, where they said:

With many fond memories to look back on, we are sad to announced, The Black Lab will no longer be serving coffee to Clapham Common… We’ve had a wonderful journey and are so thankful for all our customers and loyal regulars through the years…Mostly though ,we will miss hosting all the hounds and pooches of Clapham Common! Reflecting on so many good times, laughs and all the ups and downs only the unique Clapham Common can provide, makes us feel truly honoured and privileged to have been part of the community.

The Black Lab will be starting on pastures new in Hove, so make sure to keep an eye out for that recognisable blue logo if you ever find yourself down that way.

Of course, as the doors of The Black Lab close, other doors open. Bobo & Wild will be taking over the prime location on the Common. Already a well established brunch and coffee brand, Bobo & Wild has another location in Shoreditch, where it opened over lockdown. They’re big on brunch and just a peep at their social media shows colourful plates of healthy, hearty brunch dishes. From the vegan friendly coyo hotcakes to the luxurious truffle folded eggs- Bobo & Wild aren’t messing around.

They’re planning on opening towards the end of the month or at the beginning of February- we can’t wait to welcome them to the Clapham community.
