When it comes to food, we’re spoilt for choice here in Clapham. But every now and then, a new opening pops up outside our borders that’s worth the trip—and Brasserie Constance is one of those.
Landing on Fulham Pier in Spring 2025, this new modern British brasserie comes courtesy of none other than Adam Byatt, the mastermind behind Clapham’s own Michelin-starred Trinity.
If you’re familiar with Trinity (and let’s face it, who isn’t?), you’ll know Byatt’s name is synonymous with culinary brilliance. A Clapham institution for over 15 years, Trinity is the kind of place you go when you want food that’s innovative yet familiar, refined but not fussy. And now, Byatt is taking that same magic to Fulham with Brasserie Constance.
A Slice of Clapham in Fulham
For Byatt, this is more than just another restaurant. It’s a chance to bring his expertise to Fulham, a place he once called home, while drawing inspiration from the local legend Constance Spry. Spry, known as the inventor of coronation chicken (a dish that’s stood the test of time), was a writer, florist, and all-around trailblazer. Her influence will shine through in Brasserie Constance’s seasonal, approachable menu, though we’re secretly hoping for a cheeky coronation chicken moment somewhere on the list.
More Than Just a Meal
The restaurant itself promises to be just as impressive as the food. Think floor-to-ceiling windows with uninterrupted views of the Thames, a terrace for al fresco dining, and even a private dining room complete with its own private terrace. It’s the kind of setting that’ll make the journey from Clapham more than worth it.
Next door, you’ll find Flo, the brasserie’s sister bar, which is set to be a destination in its own right. With expertly crafted cocktails, a 200-bin wine list (curated by the Trinity sommelier team, no less), and a menu of small plates, it’s perfect for everything from a casual drink to a pre-dinner warm-up.
Why It’s Worth the Trip
Fulham might be a bit of a trek for us Claphamites, but Brasserie Constance is shaping up to be worth it. It’s part of the Fulham Pier development, which will also include a boutique hotel, riverside market, and casual dining from big names like Goila Butter Chicken and Base Face Pizza. And if you’re heading there for a match at Fulham FC’s Craven Cottage, you’ll have no excuse not to pop in.
Adam Byatt is a name we’re proud to call local, and his success with Trinity, Bistro Union, and beyond is something we can all celebrate. Whether you’re a die-hard fan of Trinity or just curious to see what Byatt’s bringing to Fulham, Brasserie Constance is one to watch.
In the meantime, if you’ve yet to experience Byatt’s magic closer to home, Trinity in Clapham Old Town is just around the corner and always ready to impress. But we’d suggest booking—once word gets out about Brasserie Constance, securing a table at Trinity might just become that little bit trickier.
