As December rolls in, so too does one of Clapham’s most cherished traditions.
This Sunday, 1st December, Carols on the Common will return to Holy Trinity Church, bringing the community together for an evening of festive cheer and Christmas classics.
At 6 PM, the Common will come alive with the sound of live musicians and the voices of locals belting out beloved carols like O Come All Ye Faithful. This isn’t a night for quiet reflection—expect a lively singalong that’s sure to put everyone in the holiday spirit.
The atmosphere promises to be as warm as the mulled wine on offer. Local food trucks will line up to keep everyone fuelled with seasonal treats, while the crisp winter air will only add to the magic of this outdoor affair. Christmas jumpers are practically a requirement, so dust off your best knitwear and wrap up warm.
Hosted by Holy Trinity Church, Carols on the Common has become a Clapham staple. It’s not just about the music—it’s about the sense of togetherness. Friends, families, and neighbours gather each year to celebrate the season in the heart of their community.
If you’re making a day of it, Holy Trinity will also hold its usual Sunday services at 8 AM (communion) and 10 AM (morning worship). But the evening is when the festive spirit truly takes over.
There’s something undeniably magical about singing carols under the open sky, surrounded by the lights and sounds of the season. So grab your family, your friends, and your best singing voice—Carols on the Common is not to be missed.
