Whether you’re ready for it or not, the Christmas season is fast approaching – and what better way to kick it off than with the Clapham Lights switch-on?
We’re saying goodbye to summer, Halloween is just around the corner, and soon enough, it’ll be time to dive head-first into all things festive. That means twinkling lights brightening up our streets and adding some sparkle to those long, dark evenings. Clapham Old Town is bringing back the Christmas magic, and we’ve got all the details you need to know!
The Clapham Lights switch-on is set for 29th November, so grab your woolly hats and head to the Polygon for an evening of festive fun. This year’s event promises to be even bigger and better, with plenty to keep you entertained.
The action kicks off at 3pm, and there’s something for everyone: decoration-making workshops, mulled wine, live music, carol singing, rides, and stalls galore. So, come along, pick up a mince pie, and get ready to kickstart the Christmas season in style.
We’ll be treated to another special guest this year as they flip the switch on Clapham’s Christmas lights. Two years ago, the iconic ‘flying hedgehog’ (previously a goat!) did the honours with some help from Miriam Margolyes, so we’ve got high hopes for this year’s mystery guest. Who will it be? You’ll have to come along to find out!
If you’re interested in being part of the festivities as a stallholder, now’s your chance! Clapham Lights is currently taking submissions for stallholders, so if you’ve got something festive to offer, don’t miss out.
But be quick – the deadlines are just around the corner!
It’s time to get into the festive spirit, Clapham! Clapham Lights 2024 is set to be an evening of fun, laughter, and all things Christmassy. Join us on 29th November from 3pm to 8pm for what’s sure to be the start of a magical holiday season.
