Yesterday, things got a little spooky outside Battersea Power Station when a group of ten mysterious women in long black cloaks and veils appeared out of nowhere.
Passersby did a double-take as these cloaked figures, looking straight out of a sci-fi film, gathered by the iconic chimneys. Turns out, they were there for a reason: to mark the launch of the highly anticipated new series, Dune: Prophecy.
In full Truthsayer costumes, the women were a sight to behold. For those who don’t know, Truthsayers are part of the Dune universe – think powerful, all-female figures with the ability to tell when someone’s speaking the truth. Pretty cool, right? In Dune: Prophecy, the story will follow two Harkonnen sisters on a mission to save humanity’s future and lay the groundwork for what will become the legendary Bene Gesserit.
But back to the spectacle outside Battersea! These Truthsayers weren’t just there to look dramatic – the whole getup was put together by costume designer Bojana Nikitovic, who oversaw every tiny detail, from sculpting to leatherwork. She’s created some truly amazing pieces that bring the world of Dune to life. “We had painters, sculptors, leather and metal masters, and more,” she said. And, judging by yesterday’s display, the result is pretty epic.
Want to see what all the hype is about? Dune: Prophecy officially premieres on Sky and NOW on Monday 18th November. If yesterday’s preview was anything to go by, this series is going to be one seriously wild ride. So, mark your diaries, grab the popcorn, and get ready to dive into the world of Dune!
