Balham is the unofficial capital of cafes and it’s not ditching that name anytime soon… there’s a new cafe in town!
We’ll admit that we are using ‘new’ in a very loose way here, because Brioche isn’t a new cafe (it’s been open in it’s West Kensington location since 2016) and it isn’t particularly new to Balham either… Let us explain. In summer 2023 this husband and wife run cafe had a pop up stall at the Post Market, where locals loved them for their fantastic breakfasts and coffees and that collaboration with Bob Bar Balham where they did a bottomless prosseco brunch. After such a warm reception in the neighbourhood they’ve decided to put down perminant roots in SW12 where they’ve just opened their new location at 10 Station Parade, Balham High Road.
So what can you expect from their brick and mortar cafe? It’s an all day kind of affair (they’ll be open from 7am on weekdays and 8am on weekends) and they’ll be ready to serve you a very classic brunch menu. Bagels, pastries, pancakes, loads of things on toast and their famous selection of eggs Benedict. It’s everything you want when you want brunch. They pride themselves in homemade cakes so make sure you save room for afters…
