It’s time to get your fright on, Brixton! The Brixton Chamber Orchestra is back with a bone-chilling event just in time for Halloween.
On 30th October 2024, they’re bringing a unique orchestral experience to the Ritzy Cinema, and it’s one you won’t want to miss.
This Halloween, the Brixton Chamber Orchestra is set to bring the iconic silent film Nosferatu (1922) to life like never before. Imagine watching this classic horror flick with a live 16-piece orchestra performing the original soundtrack by Hans Erdmann. The eerie score, complete with spine-tingling sound effects, will be played in real time, making this a truly immersive experience.
But that’s not all! The event will also feature a brand-new horror short by local filmmakers Alfred Wales and Noah Kean, complete with a semi-improvised soundtrack by the talented BCO musicians. Oh, and did we mention that every ticket comes with a free beer from Brixton Brewery? Halloween never tasted so good!
If you’ve got little ones in tow, don’t worry – there’s something for them too. The Children’s Matinee kicks off at 2:30pm, featuring Nosferatu (rated PG) in a fun and family-friendly setting. The matinee promises plenty of Halloween excitement, including an audience sing-along and spooky visual storytelling. It’s the perfect half-term treat for kids aged 10 and up, offering a light-hearted approach to this classic horror film.
The general public showing, suitable for an older crowd, starts at 8pm, and will include the newly commissioned horror short – perfect for getting you into the Halloween spirit!
