If you went last summer then it’s unlikely you’ll have forgotten The Anya Hindmarch Ice Cream Project. With flavours like those, how could you?
It’s wild to think that pea flavoured ice cream would have the ability to cause queues round the block. But that’s exactly what’s going on at this rogue ice cream parlour in Belgravia. The Ice Cream Project is the love project of UK designer Anya Hindmarch who’s made the site as an ode to her favourite British brands.
This isn’t just any old ice cream parlour because there’s no plain old strawberry or mint choc chip in sight here. These scoops feature some of the UK’s most iconic household brands like Heinz, Kikkoman, Warburtons and Kellogg in the whackiest of flavours. The Branston has a mild cheddar base with the addition of the ‘chunky, crunchy bite’ of the pickle. The Kikkoman Soy Sauce is described as ‘toasted sesame laced with umami-rich naturally brewed soy sauce’. Wild. If you’d rather keep it a little more on the safe side then the Ribena sorbet or the chocolatey Maldon salt flavours might be more your bag…
The sequel from last year has a few new items to try out. We couldn’t bare to leave out any of the flavour options, so check out the full menu:
…A scoop of crumpet with your sweet chilli? Or are you mixing Coco Pops with some soy sauce? Decisions, decisions. And if you really fall in love with that KP salted peanut number then all the ice creams will be available to take home in 500ml tubs.
It’s running until 27th August, so you’ve got plenty of time to work your way around the flavours… if you dare.
