More high street banks are set to disappear as Lloyds Banking Group announces a fresh wave of closures, and this time, South West London isn’t spared.
The shift towards mobile banking means customers will soon have fewer physical branches to visit, with the latest closures affecting multiple locations in the area.

The closures, scheduled between May 2025 and March 2026, are part of Lloyds’ ongoing strategy to reduce costs and push customers towards online banking. A Lloyds spokesperson said the move reflects how customers are choosing to bank, with over 20 million using the app for their day-to-day transactions.
While digital banking may offer convenience, many locals are concerned about the loss of in-person services, especially for elderly residents and those who rely on cash transactions.
