Meli Art Café & Bakery: Bringing a Slice of Greece to Battersea Rise!

Exciting news, Battersea! There’s a new Greek café & bakery opening on Battersea Rise, right where Loungin furniture shop used to be.

Meli Art Café & Bakery is about to bring a slice of Greece to our neighbourhood, and it’s more than just a café; it’s a family-run haven brimming with Greek hospitality and organic ingredients.

So, what’s in a name? “Meli” means honey in Greek, and there’s a sweet story behind it. The owners, a charming Greek family, are all about using organic Greek honey in their recipes—no caster sugar or artificial sweeteners in sight. It’s all-natural goodness.

The café promises freshly squeezed juices made on-site and Greek-inspired brunch dishes that sound absolutely mouth-watering. Picture this: smashed avocado with poached eggs and feta, halloumi delights, and spinach-filled pastries. Plus, there’s a deli for those of us on the go, offering grab-and-go options perfect for a quick picnic on the common.

Perfect for Remote Workers

Meli Art Café & Bakery is a dream for remote workers too. Open from 7 am to 6 pm every day, it’s got plenty of plug sockets so you can set up your mobile office. Imagine working with the aroma of freshly baked pastries wafting through the air and a cup of premium Greek coffee by your side.

Greek Products and More

And it’s not just about the food. The café also offers a variety of Greek products for sale, including their signature organic honey and some unique aromatic salts. Trust us, you’ve got to try the coffee-flavoured salt—it’s an aromatic delight. With 30 indoor seats and 4 outdoor tables, there’s ample space to relax, whether you fancy a cosy indoor spot or some alfresco dining. The café is pet-friendly and has a kids’ play area, making it a perfect hangout for families.

Open Kitchen Experience

One of the best parts? The open kitchen. You can watch skilled bakers in action, creating everything from traditional Greek pies to sweet Bougatsa. Everything is handmade with love and never frozen. We got a taste of the spinach and feta pastries, and let us tell you, they are divine. So, mark your calendars for 18th July. Meli Art Café & Bakery is opening its doors, and it’s one opening you definitely won’t want to miss!
