And it’s going to be al fresco. This August the organisation is taking to Myatt’s Fields Park for some of their legendary cooking demos.
Migrateful is a really worthy charity. They are all about bringing people together through a common love of food and culture and they do that by training asylum seekers, refugees and migrants to teach cookery classes to the public. The aim is that those teaching the cookery classes are able to share their culture and flavours with people who may not have encountered them before; it’s all about integration into the UK and helping to shift the opinions around immigration here.
This summer, Migrateful is heading to the great outdoors and leading al fresco cookery demonstrations over at Myatt’s Fields Park. August will see two guest chefs take to the stage to show off their cooking skills and inspire you to try something new! On the 5th August Sammy from Nicaragua will be cooking a vegetarian menu. There will be Maduro Con Queso (Fried plantain with cheese ), Ensalada De Repollo (Cabbage Salad), Pinolillo (Sweetcorn and cacao drink) and Tortillas for you to try. On the 12th August Halima is cooking a completely vegan Nigerian menu of Mushdodo (Fried plantain, mushrooms and a spicy pepper sauce), Amunututu Juice (Cucumber, kiwi, apple and herb juice) and Yam Balls.
Save the date because these are going to be pretty fantastic events. You’ll get to try their cooking, meet the chefs and other attendees and enjoy it all in the beautiful surrounds of Myatt’s Fields Park.
