From Friday 15th September until Sunday 15th October The Regent, Balham, is getting in the Bavarian spirit.
The Regent always go huge for Oktoberfest, and this year is no different. For 4 weeks the pub is going German and decking out the place with festive decor, they’ll be serving steins of Bavarian beers, loads of Bratwurst and Currywurst food specials (with vegan friendly options too) and generally getting in the Oktoberfest spirit. Though there will be fun for the whole month, there are some specific dates for your calendar to make note of:
… That last one got us intrigued. At 9pm there will be the annual Bitburger Bratwurst eating competition, which will see contestants try and munch down as many of the sausages as they can handle in 6 minutes. Last year the winner managed a tummy-turning 21.5! But could you do more…? The winner walks away with a Bratwurst trophy, but everyone taking part will get a t-shirt and commemorative stein.
