Battersea Power Station is about to get a serious upgrade on the sushi front. Sticks’n’Sushi – the Danish-Japanese sensation – is making its way to London’s iconic landmark with an opening date set for 30th November 2024
If you’re into sushi, grilled sticks, or just great food in a stylish setting, this is one spot you’re going to want on your radar.
Nestled on Electric Boulevard just outside the Power Station’s South Entrance, Sticks’n’Sushi is bringing its signature mix of creative sushi and grilled dishes to Battersea. But here’s the thing – even if sushi isn’t usually your thing, they’ve got options that’ll win you over. This place has perfected the art of pleasing both sushi lovers and skeptics alike. From classic and innovative sushi and sashimi to flavour-packed grilled sticks and set menus, it’s the perfect place to stop in for a quick bite, a long dinner, or anything in between.
Expect to see some crowd-favourites, like the Momo Nanban – fried chicken thigh in a sweet and sour dashi marinade, finished with Japanese mayo, onion, and daikon cress. For something extra special, go for the Black Cod House Roll with miso-marinated black cod, veggie chips, and pickled red onion. And new to the menu, the Temaki Setto invites you to roll up your own sushi creations with premium ingredients like wagyu tartare, snow crab, and sake-tamari trout roe. It’s sushi, but with a DIY twist.
Designed by OEO Studio, the interiors blend the industrial charm of Battersea with that clean, Scandinavian aesthetic. Inside, it’s all about that Japanese principle of ‘Omotenashi’ – the art of wholeheartedly looking after guests. Think open dining spaces, a kitchen counter where you can watch the action, a lounge and bar area, and even an outdoor terrace. Whether you’re stopping by solo or with a group, it’s set up to make everyone feel welcome.
This Battersea location marks Sticks’n’Sushi’s 15th restaurant in the UK and 30th worldwide. What started in a Copenhagen basement back in 1994 has now grown into a seriously popular name in both Denmark and the UK. With this new spot, they’re bringing that unique Danish-Japanese fusion to the riverside and adding another culinary gem to Battersea’s already buzzing food scene.
Mark your diaries for 30th November and prepare for your new go-to spot. Whether you’re a sushi purist or just love a good meal in a cool setting, Sticks’n’Sushi Battersea is where you’ll want to be.
