Going for a strictly anti Valentine’s Day approach this year? We got you. Here are some of the best non-lovey-dovey events for the 14th Feb.
Date and Draw: the friends making special
Where: Brixton Village Studios, SW9 8LF
We are starting with a really cool one. Find doing what they do best: hosting life drawing classes with a welcoming atmosphere and incredible (and often live) music. On the 15th they are putting on a ‘friends making special’ class where they aim to “empower new friendships through some fun games with drawing at its core“. Their classes are open to any level of ability and they provide all the materials so all you need to do is rock up. So different, so fun and hey, you might just leave with a few new mates.
Cardio Dance Party
Where: Grafton dance centre, SE21 7AW
Question: Is there anything more endorphin boosting than a dance party? Answer: Only if you add an empowering group of women, huge tunes and an inclusive atmosphere. And what would you know- that’s exactly what Legs London are doing on the 12th!
Galentines Supper Club
Where: Nue Ground, SW4 9NG
Self Love London, Truly Twenties and Nue Ground are coming together to create the ultimate Galentines on the 15th February. This supper club welcomes London women who are in their 20’s, looking to meet some likeminded friends, and are curious about self love. The food will be fantastic (duh, it’s by Nue Ground) and the company will be welcoming. Pretty wholesome.
Wine Tasting
Where: Effra Social, SW2 1DF
A couple of glasses of wine with some friends has got to be the perfect way to forget all about V Day. So, on the 14th, Brixton Wine Club are doing a wine tasting that’s giving all the palentines vibes. Over 2 hours you’ll sample 5 different wines and ‘no stingy pours‘! Cheers to that.
Wine and tote painting class

Arts, crafts, wine, friends… A recipe for a great evening. On the 10th February Crafty Days with Consuelo are descending on Unwined to bring you a lovely little event. You’ll paint your very own tote bag and get a complimentary glass of wine to really get those creative juices flowing.
Darts and Brunch Social

Bitter: Valentines Special Comedy Show

Laugh it all off at this Valentine’s Evening comedy special. Luisa Omielan is taking to the stage with her show ‘Bitter, Valentines Special’ and it is the exact antidote to all the lovey-dovey Valentine’s Day gunk.
Tantra Speed Dating
Where: Light Centre Belgravia, SW1W 9LX
If you do want to talk a bit about love/finding-the-one/soul mates, then here’s a fun speed dating event on the 10th. Tantra Speed Dating do things a little bit differently. Their facilitators use techniques that will help you- and your potential match- into ‘a mindful state of presence‘. It’ll be different to the usual speed dating format, so go with an open mind and heart.
