… And despite only opening a few days ago, Malabaarii Restaurant is already getting some shining reviews.
It’s no secret that Tooting has a lot of Indian eateries. It’s known as much for the lido as it is for the ‘curry mile’ that is home to some of the best, authentic food in London. So to open another Southern Asian restaurant is a brave move, but luckily the team at Malabaarii have taken the plunge- and aren’t we glad that they have. They’ve just opened up in Tooting Broadway Market and are doing things a bit differently. As a market vendor Malabaarii is restricted to a smaller space, they have a smaller menu than the curry houses on the high street. But theirs is a menu that packs a punch. For mains they’ve got 4 choices of ‘porotta ‘n’ curry’ (curries served with two flakey parathas), or three choices of dosa. There’s a side of a Malabar chicken fry, which can also be done with cauliflower, and desserts are either halwa or payasam. It’s simple, but the flavours are not. Just a quick look on Google reviews (which are all 5 star, by the way) goes to show how this new spot is already making a big impact:
With the 5 star reviews already tumbling in, we have a feeling that this new Southern Indian inspired restaurant is about to make a big impact on the curry scene in Tooting.
