Turkiye Earthquake Fundraiser this weekend

If you’re looking for an activity to fill a few hours of your weekend, head to Northcote Road and support this fundraising effort.

This weekend The Northcote Road will be transformed into a hub of fundraising fun because, on Saturday 25th between 9am and 5pm the Turkiye Earthquake Fundraiser is taking over the street. The event is to raise money for the survivors of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck the Turkey-Syria border on the 6th February earlier this year. The quake killed over 57,000 people, injured 129,500 and left thousands more without homes, water and power. There is still so much work to be done to repair the destruction and help the survivors rebuild their lives, which is where fantastic events like this fundraiser come in.

For a full day, The Northcote Road will aim to raise as much money as possible through a bake sale, candy floss and popcorn machines, lucky dips and second hand sales. Pick up a sweet treat, a second hand treasure and support those in Turkey who really need it. All funds raised from the day will go to the Turkey Mozaik Foundation, a UK based charity working to create positive social change in Turkey who are specifically focusing on the earthquake relief effort.
