Love it or hate it, the 14th is creeping up on us. Here are some of the most romantic way to spend Valentine’s in Tooting.
Gazette Brasserie, SW17 7HP
If you can’t make it to the city of romance you can still have a touch of Parisian amour in London. Gazette are doing a simple, but lovely, a la carte menu. For £55pp you’ll get an amuse-bouche and then three indulgent courses of classic French food. You’ll finish sweet with a millefeuille to be shared between two and, if you really want to impress, you can pre-order a bottle of something nice for the table when you arrive.
Mezzanine, SW17 8TA
Don’t want to do dinner? Or want to go somewhere for a night cap? Mezzanine are doing 2 cocktails for £14 all night long on the 14th.
Bordelaise, SW17 0RJ
Of course Bordelaise is doing something for Valentine’s. This intimate restaurant is set up for romance and they’ve got a 3 course menu that would win anyone’s heart. Start off with bread, butter and bubbly and then dive head first into delicious plates like sweet potato and coconut soup, confit duck leg, creme brûlée… It’s a steal at £42pp too.
Green Choy, SW17 0RH
Want to stay away from the ‘classic’ stuff for the 14th? Green Choy are doing a special deal where you can get 2 courses for £12 or 3 courses for £13. It’s Korean street food at its finest here (bao buns, KFC and chips, corn dogs, noodle soups…) and is perfect for a causal nod to the festivities without being OTT.
Heavenly Desserts, SW17 7PD
Everyone knows that 14th February calls for sweet treats. That’s where Heavenly Desserts comes in… They’ve got a bottomless dessert tapas offer where, for £24.95pp, you’ll get 90 minutes of pud after pud. Seriously though, what could be better?
Sea Garden, SW17 0RJ
Not much says ‘romance’ more than a plate of oysters and a glass of champagne. You can get both- and more- at Sea Garden. For the 14th they’ve got a gorgeous menu where you’ll start with those plus a prawn and avocado salad, the ‘Lovers Platter’ (half a lobster, prawns, mussels, rib-eye steak and sides) before you finish up with a decadent chocolate mousse and dessert wine. Indulgent, classic and oh so romantic.
