Grays and Feather are the brand that already own Plume, a wine focused bar which has been serving the punters of Covent Garden since 2018. Known for championing British wine and small wine makers, the bar has made a name for itself as being a place for some properly good, boundary pushing bottles.

This year they are expanding and are planning to open 2 more bars one, Peregrine, in Leadenhall Market, and the other, Finch, in Brixton Village. This new bar is going to be a dinky ‘cabinet of curiosities’ with an interior as striking as the wine list. The 12 cover inside will be decorated with bold stripes on the bar and ceiling as well as chequered flooring, walls stacked with bottles and golden feathers hanging from the roof. Outside there will be room for 18 more covers where they will be also operating a BYOF (bring your own food) system- drinkers will be able to bring takeaway food from other Brixton Village vendors if they wish.

If you’d rather stick to the Finch menu then you’ll be in for a treat. They’ve go some really delicious nibbles ready to pair with your drinks; oysters, cheese and charcuterie boards, a duck and cognac mousse and, of course, their famous Golden Boy grilled cheese sandwich. As for the drinks there will be loads of wine. All varieties from all over the world, but expect a really carefully curated list and a particular emphasis on British bottles. Following in Plume’s style, Finch will be taking inspiration from their local neighbourhood to create their cocktail list where Brixton-centric flavours will be highlighting the menu.

Finch will be opening in Brixton Village on the 18th September and will be open Tuesdays- Sundays.
