Good news, Richmond foodies! Sticks’n’Sushi, the beloved blend of sushi and yakitori sticks, is setting up shop right on your high street this spring.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, 5th May, when the doors swing open to welcome you into a world of exquisite Japanese-Danish dining. Taking over the iconic former Dickins and Jones department store on George Street, Sticks’n’Sushi is about to become your new go-to spot. The building, a piece of Richmond’s retail history, has been transformed by the visionary architects at Diener & Diener. They’ve created a space that’s a flow of Scandinavian elegance and Japanese minimalism, much like the River Thames nearby.
Andreas Karlsson, the group’s CEO, is buzzing about the launch. “We’re so excited to bring our newest restaurant to Richmond, enhancing our presence in South-West London,” he says. Having first planted roots in Wimbledon in 2012, the Sticks’n’Sushi family holds a special fondness for this historic area. “Opening in such a storied building adds another layer of excitement,” Karlsson adds.
It’s not just about style; the substance is seriously impressive too. From veggie delights like the Kinoko Katzu to indulgent desserts, there’s a dish to dazzle everyone. And let’s not forget the Kampai menu, brimming with everything from bespoke cocktails to sake—a perfect match for any meal.
The ethos of Omotenashi, meaning to wholeheartedly look after guests, runs through every element of Sticks’n’Sushi Richmond. So expect to feel cherished from the moment you step in. And speaking of special treats, to mark their opening, Sticks’n’Sushi is celebrating Kodomo no Hi, Japanese Children’s Day, by offering complimentary bento boxes for kids dining with a paying adult.
With their blend of thoughtful design, heartfelt hospitality, and culinary craftsmanship, Sticks’n’Sushi is not just opening a restaurant; they’re crafting a sanctuary for all who love good food and great company. So, whether you’re planning a quiet dinner, a family lunch, or just in need of some top-notch takeout, Sticks’n’Sushi Richmond promises to be your new favourite local haunt.
