Ways you can celebrate International Women’s Day

The 8th is International Women’s Day- a day to celebrate all the ladies in our past, present and future. Here are some things you can do to get involved.

Train yard

Cause there’s nothing that makes you feel as empowered as a sweat, right? To celebrate IWD Train Yard are going to be playing women ONLY tunes during the classes on Tuesday. And there will be goodies at the end of class too.


Look up London

Look up London are taking you on 90min walks through Brixton. ‘We Likkle But We Tallawah’ translates as ‘we may be small but we are strong’ and that is exactly the theme of their walks. Women such as Olive Morris, Claudia Jones and Linda Bellos will be introduced to you throughout the walk along with others who have been connected with the area. You’ll hear all about their inspirational lives and get to see Brixton whilst you’re at it.

Dates & times: 5th March 2pm, 6th March 11am, 13th March 11am, 20th March 11am.

From Tuesday 8th until Saturday 12th Brixton Village are hosting a variety of workshops, talks and exhibitions celebrating all things IWD. From flower arranging and art classes to spoken word performances and live DJ sets there really is something for everyone.
