Battersea Power Station is turning into quite the foodie destination. Inside the development is a whole host of restaurants; Bread Street Bar and Kitchen, Where the Pancakes Are, and of course TOZI Grand Cafe has just opened up too. And now that foodie goodness is spilling onto the River Walk and Coaling Jetty.
The area is hosting pop-up food trucks and huts which are selling delicious, warming food that you can grab and go, perfect for when you are wandering around and exploring the new site! Here’s a little taster of the kind of food you can expect to see:
Manna: Manna are making a mini-appearance to whet the appetite of locals ahead of it’s more permanent site at the new Arcade food hall opening next year. There will be burgers, cheesy chips, and other comforting goodness. N.B: This pop-up is only open 12pm till 8pm on Fridays to Sundays.
Journey to the West. These plates of dumpling joy are the perfect pick-me-up fuel when you need a quick bite. Lots of vegan friendly options as well as the more traditional meaty fillings, plus there is a Christmas special only available at their Battersea pop-up.
Chipsy. They call themselves ‘deeply satisfying’ and we agree. Is there anything more satisfying than a huge portion of cheesy chips? No.
Queen of The Crepes. Not just for kids! This crepe business have got a whole festive menu; are you getting the sweet Mariah Carey or the sugary Cindy Lou? Or if you’re in the mood for more of a salty bite, the Miss Piggy will sort you out.
Fondue Power. Melted cheese in a hollowed out crusty baguette. Need we say more?
The Cheese Wheel. Steamy hot pasta that has been swizzled around a wheel of cheese to really infuse that cheesy flavour. It’s the kind of thing that will get you going back for ‘just one more portion’.
Simply Falafel. If your tastebuds are getting tired of the rich flavours of December then this will be music to your ears. Change things up with a hummus wrap or a falafel salad.
The Waffle Market. Warm, sweet and will stave off any hanger related tantrums from the young (and old) kids.
Simply Hog Roast. No market is complete without the smell of a hog roast. Treat yourself to a slap up porky bite.
The trucks are open from 11am until 9pm from Wednesdays to Sundays.
