Big, seasonal flavours, a cosy setting, live DJs and even a sofa to kick back and watch some TV on. Perfect Sunday? Sorted.
Chef Danny Jack is back in Brixton with his big, hearty food and flavours and we are happy about it. You may remember he came and rocked our little worlds in February earlier this year with two roast dinner pop-ups and, off the flaming success of those, he is back with two more dates.
This March (19th and 26th) Chef Danny will be cooking up a three course meal over two sittings in his space in Studio Z. Studio Z is a snuck away little venue under the arches on Brixton Station Road, and it makes the perfect, cosy place to hunker down with a delicious meal and glass of something full bodied. It’s not just the food that will tempt you down. The whole vibe of the place is exactly where you want to spend your Sunday. There’s going to be live DJ’s, sofas to kick back on and watch some Sunday TV whilst you digest, a cash bar for any drinks you’ll need and the whole place is family friendly too- dogs and all.
The big question: what are we eating? Here’s the (very, very good) menu:
Seasonal crudités; rhubarb, radish and carrot, bagna cauda dip and sourdough bread (Ve)
Slow roasted, rolled lamb shoulder, celeriac mash, wild garlic and braising sauce
BBQ Oyster mushroom skewers, celeriac mash, wild garlic (Ve)
Hazelnut and chocolate parfait, creme fraiche
Hazelnut and chocolate brownie with date syrup and coconut yoghurt (Ve)
…Excuse us whilst we salivate. But it’s not just us who is raving about Chef Danny. Post-roast pop-up in February, Danny had received some pretty shiny reviews. Here’s just a taster: ‘The roast pop up was a hit. From the welcome at the door. To the decor, food, and general vibe, I was so impressed. Studio Z itself is a sight to behold, alongside this Danny produced the best roast I’ve had in London. Get yourself down!‘, ‘We enjoyed the most insanely delicious roast, i’m drooling just thinking about it. Danny and his wife were superb hosts who made us feel like it was a home from home. The venue was just the right size so as to feel cozy but also social… we ended up staying far longer than planned.’ and ‘What a great way to spend a Sunday! Tasty, warming food, cracking tunes and a welcoming atmosphere. This pop up roast ticked all the boxes for us; attending for a bit of ‘us’ time with our toddler in toe.‘
That menu, those reviews and a venue to boot. What are you waiting for? Get your booking in now.
