‘Ploussard’ is a variety of French red grape used for wine. It is also the name of the brand new wine bar opening in Battersea in Spring.
The brains behind fried chicken empire Other Side Fried are expanding their horizons with a brand new wine bar. Ploussard is opening in Spring this year at 97 St Johns Road and we can’t wait. It has been pitched as “a small neighbourhood restaurant and natural wine bar” where you’ll be able to find glasses of low-intervention wines and small plates to nibble on.
It sounds like the 34-cover dining room is going to be exactly what St Johns Road has been missing. A cosy affair that will be your go-to new date spot, the food offering is perfect for grazing with a partner or friend. The exclusively small plate menu is littered with dishes that have got us really excited; Berkswell cheese croquettes with burnt onion mayonnaise, grilled flatbread with riccota and pickled courgette, the sharing baked brill with smoked bone marrow and bordelaise sauce… It all sounds like an impressive way to do dinner.
Seasonal food, unique wines, soothing interiors with both counter and booth dining. We are counting down the days until it opens.
