To celebrate Black History Month, publishing giants Penguin are holding an event celebrating two incredible authors.
Taylor-Dior Rumble (author of The Situationship) and Momtaza Mehri (author of Bad Diaspora Poems) will be talking about their books, and the stories that inspired their books, at this one-off event by Penguin. The evening will be hosted by TikTok star Coco Hagi, a book celebrity in her own right, with an impressive number of followers and a prominent voice in the ‘booktok’ world.
Though both of the books being discussed are debuts from their respective authors, they are very different in style. The Situationship has been described as a fun, fresh romcom, whilst Bad Diaspora Poems is a collection of poetry that offers “satirical insight and humane outlook”. The conversations with each author will deep dive into the writing of their works and highlight the importance of Black storytelling.
There will be drinks, nibbles and the chance to meet some of your favourite new authors- plus the £5 price of the ticket is redeemable against any book in Round Table Books on the night!
6.30pm on the 17th October, at 100 Barrington Road, SW9 7NS
