Get a fresh face for the party season at Dr Motox

Crisp, cold winter days are one of the joys of the season and whilst they might look delightful, they are easier on the eyes than they are on the skin. We don’t know about you but for us the wind, the cold, the heating being on all cause havoc with our face… which isn’t very festive.

And in times of trouble who else to turn to but Dr Motox? We’ve visited a few times before and are constantly impressed with the professionalism and quality of the treatments here. So when our skin started playing up we booked in to see Charlotte for a 1 hour bespoke facial. Charlotte is an absolute magician. She is so thorough in her approach and tailored our session to precisely our concerns. Whatever it is that you’re wanting to target, she’ll have a high tech machine or a medical grade product to tackle it.

Our facial consisted of a 6 step process; cleansing and exfoliation, hydration of the skin, a lymphatic drainage massage, use of the microcurrent machine (which stimulates facial muscles helping to lift and tighten the skin) an alginate mask (which draw out impurities and unclog pores. This was really interesting to hear about- there are hydrating properties in seaweed which helps to retain moisture and nourish the skin, all whilst helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles) and then finally an oxygen mask. This last step is another really interesting one- the skin is given pure oxygen to ‘breath and heal’. It’s ideal for us London-dwellers who are constantly hit with high pollution levels as it rejuvenates the O2 starved cells, meaning you’ll get much better levels of hydration in the skin. The last two steps are a rare find too- only a few clinics have the equipment to do these masks and they really are revolutionary for the face.

The whole thing, as ever, was a real treat. We left with renewed skin that was fresh and glowing. In the run up to Christmas we appreciated the party-ready skin as much as we did the hour to relax.
