Forget what you thought you knew about traditional Lawn Bowls, because The Bowls club is bowling in to Battersea & they’re shaking things up.
Lawn bowls has a reputation of being a bit, well… snore. It conjures images of straw hats, hushed tones and serious score-keeping, so we’d understand if the idea of going to a bowls party doesn’t exactly strike excitement into your heart. But hear us out, because The Bowls Club is bowling into Battersea Park to shake up the scene.
They’ll be pitching up throughout July (between the 18th & 21st and 25th & 28th). Those days will see not only the actual games going on, but also a festival-spin on the theme of a quintessential British summer- think bars, music, magicians, circus performers, street food vendors and live music late into the evening. The idea is that you can book a rink with a group (perfect if you are looking for a team day out with your co-workers, or for a unique birthday party) and then come early, stay late and have a jolly good time.
If you dont know the rules to bowls, then don’t fret. Gamesmasters are on hand to help you and your team out with all the tips and tricks of the game.
