The concept is simple: if you want to get your steps in or you’re feeling a bit lonely & want to meet new people, join The Girls That Walk!

Alice is a local PT and saw a gap in the London social landscape that she decided to fill. She saw that people were lonely, that it was hard to make friends and that people didn’t know where to turn to in order to get out of feeling isolated. So she set up The Girls That Walk, a project that hopes to rectify that.

The aim of the group is to bring women from all backgrounds and ages to bond and socialise, while getting some fresh air and steps in. The walk is (and always will be) free, and no sign up is required. All you need to do is show up ready to have a good time. They’ll be meeting most Sundays (every Sunday as of November) and kids, dogs and friends are welcome. Meeting point: 12pm by the Pier Point Cafe.

Here’s what Alice has said about her venture: “After the pandemic and with new Brexit rules kicking in, I found myself missing my friends who had moved out of the city or moved back home and felt the need to find a way to connect with others while being active… What better way than creating a walking group where all women can show up, even alone, and come together for a fun walk?
