Opening later this month, Kapihan is firing up the ovens and grinding their beans ready to return as your number 1 cafe. Back in October of 2021, Kapihan was forced to close the doors to its original site on 13 park gate road due to complex legal issues with their landlord. From the locals regulars to well, literally anyone who has ever visited, were rightfully broken hearted and there was a huge outpouring of love and support for the cafe on social media: “…Please open somewhere near to your old location! We bought a house round the corner mainly because of you”,  “Having withdrawal symptoms from my daily chorizo, aside and hot chocolate…” and “The best team! Greatly missed by all businesses on Parkgate Road. Hoping you won’t be too far away in the future” … just a sample of the hundreds of comments that the team got on their Instagram posts over their closure.

So when they informed their fans that they’d be reopening just a hop away at 547 Battersea Park Road there was a lot of excitement. Known for their savoury and sweet Filipino bakes as well as extremely delicious coffee, Kapihan will be returning at the end of this month. They’re especially excited about their Bibingka- their most popular pastry. It’s a bouncy, smoky, naturally gluten free and low in sugar treat that the team has recreated in lots of different flavours. When you head down to see them, make sure you pick one up.

Welcome back Kapihan! We can’t wait to see you. Every. Day.
