It’s no secret that we love Maya’s Bakehouse. Breads, tarts and pastries from this covid-founded small biz kept us fuelled throughout a lot of the lockdown days, so were thrilled to hear that they’ve now opened their first brick and mortar site in London. Originally, Maya’s was a preorder only kind of affair. The weekly menu would be announced and then it was a simple process of ordering and collecting your goods directly from Maya’s house in Brixton. But as the popularity grew and the orders just kept on coming, Maya (the owner), decided that her business had outgrown her home.

She found a physical site in Tulse Hill where the cafe will be open to the public to buy their buns, breads and other bakery delights from Maya (and co-baker Izzie), as well as hot drinks. There’s not yet a sit-in space, so it’s still grab-and-go right now, but that won’t stop the queues from forming- it’s already proving every bit as popular as it should be!

Maya’s Bakehouse is located at 37 Tulse Hill, SW2 2TJ. It’s open from Weds-Fri 8am-3pm, and Sat 9am-3pm.
