And they’re starting off with a bang because SW London based Jamie Duvale will be the first chef taking to the kitchen.
Naughty Piglets is one of Brixton’s gems. This dinky restaurant is inspired by the bistrots of France and the intimate setting, flickering candles and glasses of interesting wine means that you’ll completely forget you are in the middle of London. Pull up a stool at the bar or go tête-à-tête with your plus one on one of their tables for two, either way it’ll be your portal out of Brixton for the evening.
Usually Naughty Piglets’ menu is seasonal sharing plates (which will all pair very, very nicely with one of their carefully chosen natural wines). But things are getting a shake up this February because, for the first time in their 9 years, they are starting a kitchen residency series. First up is South West London- based Jamie Duvale.
You might have heard of Jamie from his sell out pop ups that have been appearing around town. They sell out in a blink and there’s good reason: Jamie knows what he’s doing when it comes to feeding people. Before his coveted pop-ups, Jamie has worked alongside Claude Bosi and Anton Edleman and was head chef at both Gordon Ramsay’s London House and head chef at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, Wimbledon. So as we said, he knows what he’s doing.
Now you’ve got the chance to eat some of Jamie’s food, because he will be taking over the kitchen at Naughty Piglets from 7th February. He’s said: “I’ll be cooking a menu that’s true to my ethos, of honest, simple, and full of flavour.” and there is no doubt it will be fantastic. You’ll have 3 months to get down and try his food before the next chef steps in. Bookings are live now.
