This is big news for the caffeine addicts of town (which, if we really think about it, is just about all of us). Kiss the Hippo is opening in its 6th site on the 4th November right here in Chelsea. 285 Fulham Road will be the brand new home of London’s first ever carbon-negative coffee company which began its life in Richmond 5 years ago. Since then they’ve expanded over London, serving tired city dwellers their daily brew from the iconic, chic cafes.

And this indie company really are the experts in their field. They’ve won the UK Barista championships three time so if you like a really, really good coffee then here’s your spot. It’s not all lattes and flat whites though. Kiss the Hippo will be serving delicious treats over the counter too; pastries, cookies and focaccia are ready to be the perfect accompaniment for your hot drinks. Sit in their 600 sq.ft new location or run out the door with them, either way a visit to Kiss the Hippo will be a lovely addition to any routine. Here’s what creative director, Maya Zara, has said of the opening: “Everything we do here revolves around care – from how we meticulously source and roast our beans, to the thoughtful design of our spaces. We’re beyond excited to bring Chelsea the most delicious and sustainable coffee, handcrafted with passion and precision.”

So mark your diaries for the 4th. And we’d recommend getting there early because the first 100 customers through the door on opening day will get their coffee for free. Now that’s a reason to jump out of bed!
