The Dr (Motox) will see you now…

And when we say ‘now’, we mean it. The cooler months are exactly the right time to give your skin a refresh. Let us tell you about it…

Winter is chemical peel season. It’s the perfect process for this time of year, which is a characteristically drying time for faces. By sloughing off the surface dead layer of cells you’ll unveil beautifully glowing skin underneath. Our 1 hour chemical treatment peel at Dr Motox (in Clapham Old Town) was an absolute delight. We were taken care of by the incredibly welcoming and gentle Charlotte who might just have the softest hands in Clapham…

First off we had a conversation with Charlotte who talked us through the treatment and asked us a load of questions to help us work out what would work best for our skin and what it was that we wanted to tackle (peels are great for loads of things; pigmentation, acne, ageing, hydration…). It was really reassuring knowing our peel was bespoke and targeted to areas of concern for us, but Charlotte can help you out if you’re not sure what to ask for- she is a true professional. Talking done, it was time for our facial.

It kicked off with a cleanse before we had our bespoke acid peel applied. After that a hydrating, cooling mask went on and an LED light was shone onto our skin to increase collagen production and kill any acne causing bacteria lurking about. The hour was incredibly relaxing which surprised us a little considering some of the processes were (visually) quite intense. You’ll have a huge bee-keeping-esk mask on at points but don’t let it put you off- 60 minutes went by in a flash. There’s calming music playing and with Charlotte’s laid back professionalism it was tricky to stay awake.

We emerged from Dr Motox with brand new skin and a wave of compliments from friends. It was truly incredible and felt so good to have such a deep cleanse after a busy summer in the city! If there is any time and place to give your skin the reset that it needs it’s now and it’s at Dr Motox.
