BBQ is coming to Battersea because pub group Smok’d is moving into The Candlemaker on Battersea High Street.
Smok’d restaurants are all about modern British BBQ. They take influence from all over the world and condense it into their unique menu which celebrates international flavours and techniques using seasonal British produce. They Grey Horse (Kingston) and The Britannia (London Bridge) are the pubs already operating in London, where their menus are packed full of really exciting BBQ classics. There’s platters of meats, sausages, ribs, chicken, pulled pork and burgers as well as all the slaw/fries/onion ring kind of sides you’d expect. There’s a really nice amount of vegetarian and vegan friendly options- a chick’n shawarma, buffalo cauliflower and almost all of the sides are meat-free. They also do two burgers of the month, one of which will always be meatless.
Aside from the food Smok’d is into live music, really good whisky and deals almost every day of the week that will keep you coming back (there’s even their take on a Sunday roast). We can’t wait to see what they do in their brand new Battersea location. It’s opening
