What to do in Battersea this OCTOBER

October already! Here are some ideas to get you out and about in SW11- cooking classes, singalongs, group walks… there’s loads to do.

Go to a drinks party

Katherine Low Settlement is celebrating 100 years of supporting families and children in Battersea. To celebrate they are throwing a drinks party and annual AGM where you can find out a bit more about their work, meet the new CE and see their brand new mural.


Speak easy, wine and cheesy!

Where: Doppio Coffee, SW11 3BY

Local wine brand Grape have collaborated with Local Cheese Cave to put on a series of wine and cheese tasting nights. Head down to Doppio Coffee for an after hours special opening where you’ll get to try out 5 wines paired with artisan cheeses.


Talk Spanish

Cava and conversation is a Spanish evening where any level of speaker is welcomed! Come and chat with other Spanish-speaking friends and develop your language skills. There will be handy prompts to keep the evening flowing and there will be some Cava and snacks too.


Get into the NFL

Where: Battersea Power Station

This one-day fan event is coming to the Power Station to celebrate the NFL ’23 London Games. From 10am until 6pm the park and Coaling Jetty will be all things NFL; activities, merchandise, a football mini field, giant NFL helmets… They’re really going all out.


Swap your clothes

Where: Battersea Library, SW11 1JB

Verte are popping up for one day at Battersea Library (5p-8pm) where they will be bringing racks of cool garms for you to browse and buy… But it’s a little different. To ‘buy’ any of the clothes you’ll have to bring some of your clothes to swap out. Depending on quantity and quality, you’ll get tokens which you can use to buy other shoppers clothes. Cool and sustainable.


Go speed dating

Everyone knows Thursdays are the best date night days, which is good because this Thursday night activity is basically a bunch of dates in one evening. Head to Hannah and meet loads of new people and, who knows, maybe you’ll meet ‘the one’ just in time for a cosy winter…


Sing!

This 80’s singalong makes the audience the star. Orchestrated by Nobu Adilman and Daveed Goldman you’ll be taken through all the 80’s hits you love to sing: Prince, Madonna, George Michael, Bon Jovi, Whitney… They’ll lead, you’ll sing and you’ll leave with endorphins and a sore throat…


Get the little ones cooking

If you’re wondering what to do with the kids this October half term then Emma’s Kitchen is here to help. They’re hosting a week of activities perfect for 2-6 year olds. Play, music, drama, arts and cooking, and they’ll come home with something delicious they’ve created!

The Girls That Walk is a new concept that is all about bringing women together to socialise, get some steps in and meet new people! Every Sunday at midday go for a walk in the park and find a new community of women in a safe, accepting space.
