What to do in Clapham this OCTOBER

Don’t want to alarm anyone, but Winter is coming. October is here and with it are cosy activities to keep you busy.

See a screening of (the 5 star rated) A Little Life

When: 3rd, 4th and 7th October

Where: Clapham Picturehouse, SW4 0AT

If you missed A Little Life when it was on at the West End then don’t panic because you can catch a screening of it at Picturehouse. And you really, really should go. The story is as compelling as it is heartbreaking, the acting is the best we’ve seen on stage and the direction is phenomenal.


See a one woman comedy show

When: 3rd and 6th October

Where: The Bread & Roses Theatre, SW4 6DZ

Holly Gow is taking to the stage with her comedy show as apart of the Clapham Fringe Festival. ‘How Can(t) I Help?’ is all about a GP receptionist’s best (and worst) times working in a doctors surgery. As Gow puts it: “Come and watch the madness unfold”.


Pick your own pumpkin

When: 14th- 15th October

Where: Clapham Common, SW4 9AL

If you’ve been in years gone by then you’ll know that this is the perfect spooky season activity for the whole family. Organised by The Friends Of Clapham Common, the pumpkin patch is going to be popping up on the 14th and 15th October this year where you’ll be able to pick your own pumpkin, join in with the ‘creepy crafts corner’, make the most of the photo area and get in the Halloween spirit.

Calling book worms! There’s a full schedule of events coming up that celebrates all things literary: talks, walks, workshops and more involving authors of all genres to get you excited.

Where: LIT, SW4 7UX

These weekly Friday night events will keep you entertained for the colder months. Clapham Comedy Cave is promising: “the crème de la crème of UK comedic talent“. The format of the evening will lend itself to sorting out your entire Friday night; doors open at 6pm, the show will start at 7.30pm and finish at 9.30pm, plus your ticket to the show gets you free entrance to Aquum afterwards.
