Who said January had to be dry? Start your 2024 bold with this R&B day party. From 4pm until midnight there’ll be 5 DJs playing tunes from all decades since the 80s. And it’s free entry!
Try out a new skill

If you’re looking to try something new in 2024, then this could be the event for you. On the 11th there will be an ecstatic drawing session hosted by Find Events, where you’ll “merge drawing with the most vibrant and ambient music!”. It’s life drawing with live music to accompany!
Get on the dance floor

Radio DJ and producer Danny Rampling is coming to Brixton to bring his iconic Ibiza-inspired music to your next big night out. The music will be big, bold and house-y (think acid house, deep house, disco house, tech house) and will have you dancing ’till dawn.
Find your inner zen

The new year is always a fantastic time to try out new things, and here’s a chance to try Tai Chi for free! Every Saturday there are free hour-long classes at 9.30am. Start your weekend, and year, channelling some inner calmness.

On the second Sunday of the month it’s ‘The No Frills Folk Club’ at The Windmill. As the name suggests, it’s a laid back evening of acoustic folk music where you’re as welcome to get up and perform as you are to just sit and soak it all in.
Encourage a good autumn harvest

The annual Wassail celebration is back! Never heard of a ‘Wassail’? It’s a traditional celebration where local communities come together and toast the trees in an orchard to- hopefully- encourage a good crop for the year. There’ll be dancing, singing and warm drinks to keep you cosy.

It may be a little early (officially Chinese New Year is on 10th Feb) but Lambeth Library are getting in first with their online morning event. Award-winning illustrator, Yu Rong, will be doing live drawing, there will be crafty activities and readings too.

Photofusion have collaborated with 198 Contemporary Arts & Learning to offer courses in photography, art & design and film & video for free to adults living in Lambeth who are unemployed or underemployed. The programme is called ‘Step Up’ and it’s the perfect place to do just that!
