PSA: National Margarita Day is on the 22nd February and here’s how, and where, you should be celebrating in SW London. Cheers to that!
Hacha, Brixton
Hacha has won multiple awards for their signature Mirror Margarita, so it’s no surprise they are getting involved with the celebrations on the 22nd. They’re putting on a margarita supper club for the day itself, where you’ll be able to sip on 3 carefully paired margaritas whilst eating your way through 2 delicious courses (think nachos, totopos, tacos…).
If you can’t make it down for that, then you’ve got all month to try out their special margaritas from their ‘Margarita Month’ menu. Salted Pomegranate and Ginger, Honey Bee or Toreador… which is the marg for you?
Mestizo, Chelsea
If you’re not leaving without a picture in one of their huge sombreros then something’s gone seriously wrong. It’s always a fantastic time at this fusion spot in Chelsea. The live music, the cheerful staff and the tasty menu hits the spot every single time. And when it comes to the drinks? Well, they’ve got over 15 kinds of margaritas for you to work your way through, from the classic to a very spicy ‘El diablo’, there really is something for every margarita palate.
Club Mexicana, Brixton
Here’s a schooling in tasty vegan Mexican food. Club Mexicana’s restaurants are 100% plant based, and 100% tasty. They’re laid back, they’re vibrant and everything on their menu will have you making vaguely R-Rated noises…
1910, Parsons Green
1910 is a slice of Mexico in Parsons Green. It’s where owners, Jose and Mauricio, grew up, and they have taken inspiration from the flavours of their childhoods to create an authentic food and drink menu ready to wow.
For National Margarita Day they are selling margaritas for just £8 each, or Mezcal margs for £9 (from Thursday 22nd until Saturday 24th February). There’s loads on the margarita menu to fall in love with: classic, Tommy’s, spicy (which made with homemade chipotle sauce) or Mezcal… or a combination of the above!
Mezcalito, Chelsea
Mezcalito, Chelsea, is good any day of the week, but we especially love it at the weekend when their 2 course bottomless brunch menu hits. God hard with the tacos, go harder with the frozen margaritas and you are guaranteed a jolly time.
For the 22nd they are doing something very suave: a tequila and cigar pairing evening! You’ll get a 3 course menu, a welcome cocktail and a masterclass on all things smoky and alcoholic. Yum.
Mezcalito, Brompton
Here’s the fun little sis of the Chelsea location. Mezcalito Brompton is a bar and club that ‘aims to bring a taste of modern Mexican nightlife to the neighbourhood with a chic venue offering an intimate cocktail bar on the ground floor and a boutique nightclub in the basement‘. Live DJs, late nights and even a delicious food menu to soak up the tequila.
