Tucked away on Brixton Hill is the ultimate wellbeing paradise. Pups Yoga has moved in and its got to be one of the most endorphin-boosting hours you can spend. As the name suggests, it’s a yoga class combined with a load of gorgeous puppies and, honestly, what could be better? They’ve got regular classes in Covent Garden but, luckily for the SW Londoners, they’ve just started trialing their classes on Saturdays and Sundays in Brixton.

Obviously we had to try out a class and this really is the ideal start to any weekend. Think soothing music and- the stars of the show- fluffy little pups. In our class we had Rottweilers which were beyond adorable. Once we stopped coo-ing after the dogs the class started. First on the agenda was puppy play, where you’ll basically get to cuddle and play with your new furry little friends. Then came the yoga. It was a high quality class which consisted of relaxing flows and sun salutations and our instructor was clearly knowledgeable and gave alternative moves for anyone who needed them. The whole thing felt really accessible and we appreciated the effort put into the yoga aspect of the morning; it wasn’t just the puppies that made this such a great hour. The class finished with even more puppy play which was the perfect end.

Because this was the pups’ first outing, they were removed from the floor whilst the yoga session took place. The staff explained to us that this was in order to ‘softly socialise’ them and they were happy to chat to us all about the wellbeing of the puppies and how the human interaction they get from yoga classes like this helps them become healthier, happier dogs in the future. So it was good for the pooches and really, really good for us too.
