Win 4 tickets to Burns Night at The Little Orange Door

Celebrate Burns night with a 3 course dinner and a house party afterwards. It’s what Robbie would have wanted.

If there are two thing we know it’s that The Little Orange Door know how to throw a party and Burns Night is the perfect excuse for a party. So we weren’t even a little bit surprised when we heard about this event: The Ultimate Burns Night Supper. On 25th January this Clapham Common-based venue is pulling out all the stops to celebrate the life and poetry of Robert Burns. Here’s what’s on the cards…

First things first, you’ll have to line your stomach. Thankfully, The Little Orange Door are pros at producing family style meals that are as delicious as they are convivial. They’ve got a 3 course menu ready that’s got all the traditional Scottish flavours you want on Burns Night, served in the classic LOD way: think big platters to pass around and share with your fellow diners.

STARTER

  • Scottish smoked salmon platter with whiskey crème fraiche, pickled seaweed and soda bread
  • Vegan option: Vegan cullen skink tarts with smoked tofu, heritage potatoes, kale and creamed leeks

MAIN

  • Traditional Scottish haggis, nutty neeps, tatties and a peppery whisky sauce
  • Vegan option: Vegan haggis, nutty neeps, tatties and a peppery whisky sauce

PUDDING

  • Cranachan raspberries, honey, oats and vegan cream

And, as is tradition on Burns Night, the main course will be piped in by a live bagpiper and you’ll get to hear a bit of Robbie’s poetry too. After the food you’ll probably have a bit of energy to, well, ‘burn’. This is where it gets a little bit less traditional because now the bagpipes will be replaced by a DJ and the Scottish reeling will be replaced by a two-step. The lights will go down and the energy will stay up as The Little Orange Door stays open until 1am so you can dance until the wee hours.

If you want to just join in with the dancing, then there are tickets available for entry from 10pm (which will get you a free drink if you get there before 10.30pm). But we’d recommend getting stuck in and going for the full haggis on this one.

P.S: If you want to win 4 tickets to it then head over to our Instagram page for all the details.
