Act fast if you want to get your hand on this menu. Ayo’s only at Wood + Water for 4 weeks and you’re not going to want to miss out on this.
Wood + Water are lending their kitchen to Chef Ayo, a London-based personal chef, for a month. Their evening menu will turn into four courses of his signature, seasonal food for a tasting menu that will get you dreaming.
There are two menus; a meaty and a veggie option. Both kick off the four courses with bread and a truffle and spice infused butter (excuse us whilst we obsess over that for a few moments). The second course is hand-dived scallops with roe and coconut creme for the first menu, or a beetroot fair with creme fraiche for the veggies. Next up is either a rich venison tenderloin with celeriac puree and more truffle action, or a gorgeously seasonal pumpkin, Jerusalem artichoke, mushroom and hazelnut dish. Both menus will finish off with a spiced ice cream and chocolate tuile.
Wow. We’re not sure what else to say other than: book this or regret it. That is a cleverly seasonal, creative menu that is simply demanding your eating of it. The 4 courses only come in at £40, which is incredible value for food of such high calibre. You’ll also be within the beautiful setting of Wood + Water, which just happens to do some of the finest cocktails we’ve had in Brixton. Incredible food, amazing cocktails. Book. It. Up.
